I am eagerly awaiting the opening of IV: Hope Is Always New, a new solo exhibit of paintings by Brian Caraway. I met Brian in graduate school at Mills and in no time he became like an older brother to me. His work stands out amongst the growing number of young, Bay Area abstract painters. The show runs from August 13th through October 1st at the beautiful Branch Gallery in Downtown Oakland, with an opening reception taking place August 13th from 6 to 9 PM.
